Blue Rose Falling

They stepped through the portal into the large room with two large doors.

"Where is Kat?"
"Through those doors"
"Oki lets go" Jade headed for the doors but Daniel grabbed her arm
"Jade, your sister may not be the same, he has a strong pull"
"He didn't get me though, I am sure my sister is no different" Jade said and opened the doors to another large room. This room was largely empty. Kat was there standing by a coffin.

"Kat" Jade called

Kat turned around but her eyes were full of blood.

"Welcome to my humble abode Jade"
"Cain" Daniel whispered
"Yes Daniel, I am rising no thanks to you"

Nobody moved or said anything. Jade tried reaching out to Kat but seemed to come up across a black wall that spanned miles.

"Jade you can't reach your sister now, she is in my control"
"No, she is stronger than you, Kat listen to me"

The body that rested in the coffin rose and levitated a few feet above the coffin laughing at Jade

"You pathetic little vampire, you will be easily crushed"
"Then why haven't you done it sooner?" Jade retorted
"Because I thought it would be more of a challenge to get Daniel to do all my work, should have known he wasn't capable of pure evil"

Daniel enraged leapt at Cain but missed as Cain dodged his move easily. Daniel struck at Cain over and over again but got nowhere, in desperation Daniel started to form a demonic spell.

"Daniel you bore me, begone" Cain ordered with a wave of his hand

Daniel's face writhed in pain as his body seemed to crumble from within and then he was gone in a gust of wind that showed up from nowhere. Jade yelled out in anguish feeling the loss of Daniel instantly. She then noticed the stake on the floor and picked it up aiming it towards Cain

"Come now put that little toothpick away, you really think you can kill me with that now"
"No" Jade said and then threw the stake at Kat piercing her heart

Cain's face contorted in pain but surprise was also clearly evident

"You can't do that, you love her"
"That's exactly why I can do that. Bye Cain"

Cain's body fell to the ground and laid limply. Jade pulled the stake out of Kat's chest and pierced Cain's heart with the stake. She quickly returned to Kat, her chest open and bleeding freely. Jade tried without much success to stop Kat's bleeding chest. She yelled to the heavens to help her and laid her head upon Kat's chest, tears falling openly. She watched in a dream as a figure came through a black mist and moved Jade aside placing his hands upon Kat's chest. The wound started healing but Jade could see that it was killing this mystery man. She went to stop him but found she couldn't move. In fact she found herself falling into a deep restless sleep.

Jade woke to find the sun boring down brightly. She looked around and found Kat laying a few feet away looking just as groggy as Jade felt. Kat looked around and then at Jade.

"Where home"
"I can see that, but how?" Jade asked
"Father"
"What?"
"He came, he healed me and brought us here."
"How is that possible?"
"I don't know"

They were interrupted by some cheerful singing headed their way. Kat and Jade stood quickly and peered through the trees.

"Merry meet" Yelled Kat and headed into the bushes. Jade followed cautiously and found Kat to be hugged by several brightly dressed witches. A celebration was beginning and Kat was obviously the centre of attention. Kat was spun around and around as she danced with several witches before noticing Jade sitting by herself. She excused herself and walked over to Jade

"Hi"
"Hi"
"Why aren't you joining in?"
"Because it isn't right"
"Nonsense" Kat said then had an idea

"Sit still for a moment and be quiet" Kat ordered

Kat cut off any of Jade's questions and took Jade's head between her hands. She hummed softly and then burst out into song. Her hands started feeling warm as the power started flowing from the earth through Kat's body into Jade's head. The other witches had stopped their singing and dancing and joined in with Kat's song. Their voices harmonious and beautiful that even the birds seemed to be aptly listening. The song stopped and Jade felt sad but then realised she could hear things

"What have you done to me?"
"I gave you a gift, come lets sing and dance" Kat said pulling Jade to her feet.

The singing and dancing went on through the night and gradually Jade realised her gift had been the gift of being able to hear tones properly. She smiled at Kat when she realised and was met back with an equally broad grin. The festivities went on well into the next and the next day still. As the sun started to set the second night Jade gathered her things ready to go.

"Where you going?" Kat asked
"Back to work"
"Not without me your not"
"No, I guess not"
